The “American Radio Songbook” of the ’50s and ’60s sizzles under the command of Under the Streetlamp on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 8 p.m. in the Music Center at Strathmore. The four magnetic vocalists—all of whom played lead characters in the theatrical smash Jersey Boys—offer up tight harmonies and electric stage presence in a nostalgia-driven show that takes audiences back to an era of sharkskin suits, flashy cars, and martini shakers.

Classic hits first performed by Elvis Presley, Tom Jones, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, Bobby Darin, and Frankie Valli are reborn for today’s audiences in this evening of great music and behind-the-scenes tales, complete with an exceptional band. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (301) 581-5100 or visit www.strathmore.org.

Formed in Chicago in 2010, Under the Streetlamp is vocalists Michael Ingersoll, Christopher Kale Jones, Brandon Wardell, and Shonn Wiley. The singers were drawn together on stage through their experience in Jersey Boys and began performing cabaret shows in the Chicago-area on the side. The quartet quickly earned a local devoted following and reputation for generation-bridging concerts. The popularity of the group paved the way to an anticipated debut CD/DVD, Under The Streetlamp: Live! The concert recording has been the centerpiece of PBS specials in 2011 and 2014.

Each performer carries with him an impressive list of credits.  Between them, they have appeared on Broadway, in feature films, and on television—including special appearances during the New Year’s Eve celebration in Times Square, on The Tonight ShowThe Primetime Emmy AwardsThe Tony Awards and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
