The TRR team had seen the incredible production of “Jersey Boys” at the fabulous Riverside Center for the Performing Arts in Fredericksburg VA, nicknamed “Broadway’s Best in Virginia”, the venue is celebrating its silver anniversary this year. If you have never been to this venue, you will notice the ample free parking, spacious seating, yummy menu items, and the friendliest production staff/crew.

It’s an award-winning show that explains the music behind Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons in a documentary-style format that dramatizes the formation, success, and eventual breakup of The Four Seasons.

As soon as the show starts, the audience will feel transported back into time with the beautiful stage production and cool sounds of “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Dawn,” and especially one of my favorites “December 1963, (Oh What a Night).”

The first “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” stand-out performer is Jersey Boys Frankie Valli’s Gian Raffaele Discostanzo.  All I can say is wowzers – a showstopper performance! His looks and stellar vocals awake the goosebumps throughout the entire show.

The following exceptional performer is the 2023 BroadwayWorld Award winner Jarrett Bloom, who portrays the song-writer sensation of the Four Seasons, Bob Gaudio.  Bloom’s vocals, acting, and charisma are so believable.

Finally, special mentions go to Ensemble team player Kevin Cleary, who stood in for Tommy DeVito because a fellow castmate became ill for the night’s performance. It was refreshing to enjoy a good meal and a show at Riverside.

FINAL GRADE: A

(L-R) Jarrett Bloom, Cooper Shaw, Gian Raffaele Discostanzo, and Kevin Cleary
