On this delicious edition of SNAPSHOTS, this Easter Sunday, Skydome in Arlington VA welcomes guests to enjoy a gourmet brunch masterfully curated by today’s guest

He is the Executive Chef at the Skydome in Arlington and what I read on the menu, I’m sure the patrons this Sunday are going to leave with a full stomach.

Let’s welcome Executive Chef Chris Murry

You and your Chef de Cuisine Guy Ododi have created this amazing gourmet brunch that DMVers will feast on this Easter Sunday. What’s the inspiration behind the dishes?

The inspiration behind the menu is locally sourced American fare favorites that families and friends can come together to enjoy.

What are your favorite dishes among the options?

Crab cake benedict, which is locally sourced crabmeat and is a guest favorite. Which being from the DC area, it is always one of my favorite ingredients to build a menu item around. Lump crab meat with a very little bread filling never disappoints and always pleases the palette.

You got to talk about the Maryland Crabcake Benedict since crab is a MD delicacy. Why was it important to include this in the dinner?

See the above answer!! Also, with being born and raised in the DMV area, the crab cake always brings me back to my fondest childhood memories, enjoying good eats and conversations with my family.

When you’re not entertaining the guests at the Skydome, who do you normally celebrate Easter with?

My family and especially my 2 dearest boys. I am always creating a menu with them in mind so they can enjoy and can recall later in life. This has become a family tradition in the past few years now that they are getting older.

Is this the first time Skydome has celebrated the holiday under your watch?

Yes, this will be my first Easter with Skydome.

What are some of your Easter traditions?

Enjoying Sunday Service with my Grandmother.

Who inspired you to become a chef?

My Mother. My mom was an Executive Chef for years, which became second nature to me growing up in the Kitchen. In addition, I always had a knack for art and to be able to create art work on a plate canvas is a dream come true.
