Yndi Halda has quite a musical resume. They’ve released three albums and two EPs since 2006 and have been performing together since 2001. They now have a new LP called “Under Summer”, which is due for a March 16th release. Yndi Halda—whose name is Old Norse for “Enjoy Eternal Bliss”—hails from England and utilize a creative set of instruments to create their music, such as the glockenspiel, lapsteel, guitar and organs. Since the release of their 2006 album, “Enjoy Eternal Bliss”, they’ve been enjoying great success, especially with the following release of their EPs “I Dress My Ankles with God’s Sweetest Words” and “Lupa”. We have awhile to wait for the release of “Under Summer”, so let’s sit and chat about it for a little while.

“Together Those Leaves” and “Together Those Leaves (single edit)” have a beautifully played guitar intro. The slowly and softly strummed guitar, combined with the vocals make both songs soothing tracks that will set your soul at ease. Even the accompanying strings add a sense of peace to this song. “Golden Threads From The Sun” has such a lovely title, and it is so fitting. This track also has a memorable guitar intro and an energetic rock interlude. “Helena” is beauty personified. The soulful strings will touch your heart and make you feel every emotion imaginable. This is truly a touching track. Whereas the strings make “Helena” the sweetest song you have ever heard, the percussion adds a powerful sound to this song. Just like “Helena”, “This Very Flight” includes a breath taking string intro. The strings and guitar flow very well with the vocals and make this song an amazing classical-rock combination.

“Under Summer” is awe-inspiring and one of the most serene albums I have listened to. The combination of strings and percussion are perfect additions to an already amazing album and “Helena” was especially outstanding. I’m excited to have listened to this album, and I believe you will be just as excited. You may have to wait another month before you get ahold of “Under Summer”, but trust me, it will all be worth it once you turn on the first track.
