Tally Ho in Leesburg welcomed Tonic to their stage on Tuesday night. The crowd spanned generations of thrilled fans.
The night started with local musician and songwriter, Todd Wright bringing some clever lyrics to life. His voice and vibe made for a great opener.
Tonic took the stage and the packed house was ecstatic. Every song they sang had fans singing along and cheering. Their set included many of their number one hits, mixed with fan favorites, like You Wanted More (a personal fav), Open Up Your Eyes, and of course “f You Could Only See. The best song of the night was an acoustic version of title track “Lemon Parade”. It really showed, frontman Emerson Hart’s talent.
The energy of the band filled Tally Ho. I could feel Hart’s electricity in the audience. He was on fire. The whole band was fierce in their precision and playing. The group, as individuals, really seemed to be enjoying themselves, which made them, as a whole, give a tremendous performance.
This tour is a brilliant idea…as next year is the 20th anniversary of Tonic’s hugely popular, platinum album Lemon Parade, the band proclaimed that they will be touring next year and at Tally Ho; securing that this audience (including me) has something to make sure to look for and put on their calendars. If you missed them this year, be sure to keep track of Tally Ho. They have amazing shows on the calendar and a lot to look forward to, including the return of Tonic.
Truly a fantastic concert! It was a special night and everyone felt it. The band even came out and signed autographs and took pictures and hung out. They are very down to earth and made a strong impression on me, just as people, not just one of my favorite bands!
