Featuring four of the most decorated instrumentalists and songwriters, “An Evening of Music” with Thao, Valerie June, Yasmin Williams and Rachael Davis will kick off on November 5 in Saxapahaw, NC at the Haw River Ballroom. The tour concludes at the United Theatre on November 18 in Westerly, RI and also stops at the Opera House of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY on November 16. The tour marks the first run of dates for Thao this year after having spent much of 2022 and 2021 touring North America in support of Temple – Deluxe Edition (Ribbon Music). The LP is a digital deluxe version of her 2020 LP Temple and features acoustic and string arrangement versions of the LP’s “How Could I,” “Marauders,” “Marrow,” and “Temple.” The San Francisco Chronicle said, “the music takes on a symphonic quality with lush classical strings. It’s hard not to place yourself on the streets of Vietnam, where Nguyen’s mother is from, when hearing this operatic soundtrack, which serves to deepen the imagery of her mother’s journey, already present on every moment of the album.” Thao most recently released her single “Ambition” across all DSPs.
