On this edition of SNAPSHOTS, a new series debut on Paramount+, just days ago and its riveting. This show is Mobland starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan & Helen Mirren

Power is up for grabs as the Harrigans and Stevensons, two warring London crime families, clash in a kill-or-be-killed battle that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives. Caught in the crossfire is Harry Da Souza, the street-smart ‘fixer’ as dangerous as he is handsome, who knows too well where loyalties lie when opposing forces collide. As kingdom goes up against kingdom, lines will be crossed – and the only saving grace is a bet-your-life guarantee: family above everything.

Here we with to talk about the new series are stars Lara Pulver who plays Isabella “Bella” Harrigan & Mandeep Dhillon who plays  Seraphina Harrigan.

This was such an powerful series, I can’t stop watching the first episodes I’ve seen so far. And I’d like to know from the both of you tell us about your roles and what piqued your interest in participating.

LARA PULVER (LP) – I think the initial concept of having a Guy Ritchie show written by Jez Butterworth, with Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and Tom Hardy. I didn’t even need to see what was on the page, to be honest. I’ve just loved going on a journey with those people to play with. It’s a great ensemble cast. I think it’s been a really beautiful collaborative process of us all developing this world and these people, and it’s been really fun to watch the kind of unraveling of these very conflicted, almost chaotic, unhinged family

MANDEEP DHILLON (MP) – I mean, I was the same. I remember getting the project through and seeing everyone attached, and I was like, “Oh, this, this looks like it’s going to be good.” And then learning more about Serafina and her position in the family and who she is, I straight away was like, “yes, a no brainer. I’m more than happy to do the part.”

This has been amazing series, especially since it takes place from a different perspective of a fixer, similar to Scandal here in the States. I want you to talk about the pivotal impact of its female characters that set the stage for a crime drama and promises to both be captivating and thought provoking and Mandeep, I would like you to take the lead this time.

MP: I think the women in this show are incredible. They’re so powerful. And actually they’re the one calling the shots. Maeve Harrigan, she’s at the top of the chain, really. That’s what I quite like it. That’s the fresh perspective I think that a lot of the audience are gonna love. Yes, we’re used to seeing gangster stuff, and you’ve got these men and whatever, but actually it’s the women behind the men who are minded. They’re the most powerful people. And you can see that like, like, Conrad is in Maeve’s hand, you know? And it’s great, yes, it’s, I’m excited as a viewer to watch it.

LP – I think for me. I feel like Guy Ritchie. The second you hear his name, you kind of know what you’re going to get. He’s so iconic in the world that he brings to audiences. But there’s something about having Jess Butterworth as our writer, who is an extraordinary playwright. He’s brilliant at writing the kind of messy family dynamics, and I think these characters are severely flawed and and it’s kind of wonderful watching everyone unravel in a way, and and watching all those different connecting relationships, I think the wit and the humor also that comes along with a Guy Ritchie project. It just gives the whole show a twinkle, in a way that makes me feel like I’m not necessarily always in like this underbelly gangster show. There’s just so many more complex layers going on with this particular show.

Be sure to catch all the action and every thrilling moment of MobLand – Now playing on Paramount+
