Ambidextrous trumpeter Chris Botti, the world’s top-selling jazz instrumentalist known for nimbly traversing jazz and pop influences, brings his exuberant style to the Music Center at Strathmore on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 8 p.m.

Catapulted to fame with his 2004 release When I Fall in Love, Botti has gone on to achieve four #1 records through an ongoing relationship with PBS and win a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album for his latest release, Impressions. The album focused on his love of melody and saw the suave trumpeter collaborating with jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, guitarist Mark Knopfler, singers Vince Gill and Andrea Bocelli, and celebrated producer David Foster. Deftly melodic and sparkling with romance, Botti’s high energy performances are at once intimate and extravagant. Over the past three decades, Botti has recorded and performed with the best in music, becoming a member of Paul Simon’s house band before collaborating independently with Sting, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Josh Groban, Yo-Yo Ma, Michael Bublé, Joni Mitchell, John Mayer, Joshua Bell, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, and even Frank Sinatra.

Impressions is the latest in a stellar parade of albums, including When I Fall In Love (2004), To Love Again: The Duets(2005), Italia (2007), and Chris Botti in Boston (2009), which has established him as a clarion voice in American contemporary music. He has released 13 albums in total, the first, First Wish, in 1995.
