Fresh Snow has been making their mark on the music scene since getting their start in a Toronto bar in 2010. They released their debut album “I” in 2013, a split 7″ single with SubPop artists Metz, and just last year they released their EP “Won”. Now they have a brand new album to add to their resume. “One”, which was recorded in an Ontario barn, has recently been released and it is an amazing instrumental album that the fans have been waiting for.

The intro in “Olinda” is serene and includes a child’s voice expressing disapproval. The peacefulness of the song is soon replaced with steady drum beat and a roaring guitar. The combination of energetic drum beats, the rockin’ guitar and the urgent sounds in the background make “January Skies” a wild and thrilling track.

The ghostly vocals and dueling drum beats in “Mass Graves_Dance Caves” give it that mysterious sound. The guitars add their own fiery blend of rock and roll, and the fans are going to love every moment of it. The opening piano makes “Eat Me In St. Louis” a beautiful and whimsical melody. “I Can’t Die” starts out as an uptempo rock hit and soon slides into a more mellowed out slow rock tune. “Three-Way Mirror” has a slightly upbeat tempo and a softly played piano that soon leads into an energetic synthesizer and beautiful vocals. I found myself dancing to this awesome song. I must say, I’m absolutely in love with the amazing “I Am Smitten With Your Wrath”. What makes this track so cool are the slow drum beats, the soft keys and beautiful background music. It’s the kind of music you listen to when you want to relax.

“Anytime Minutes” is a melody that includes the wondrous piano and somber strings that make the track truly magical and beautiful. Now, we have the final track “Flat White”. This song is a sunny and upbeat song that is bound to lift your spirits. The uptempo drum beat and guitars are fun to listen to and they make this song so perfect.

“One” is a unique album that has a bit of everything for everyone. The songs vary from rock to piano interludes; from instrumental to vocals. Either way, this is a wonderful album to listen to and I highly recommend this album for all audiences.
