Comedy Central continues offering fans of stand-up the best seat in town at LA’s hottest comedy show as the channel has renewed Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani’s “The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail” for a second season, it was announced today by Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, Comedy Central. The second season will consist of eight episodes.

“We are very pleased to be doing a second season of the show, if only to have another classic ‘Kent Alterman quote’ in a press release,” said Ray, Nanjiani and Gordon.

“No comment,” added Alterman.

Shot documentary style at the Nerdist Showroom in the back of Meltdown Comics, Los Angeles’ premiere comic book store, and directed by Lance Bangs, the first season featured performances by Steve AgeeEric AndreMaria BamfordMichael Ian BlackNeal BrennanJim GaffiganChris HardwickRob HuebelMoshe KasherDavid KoechnerTom LennonGarfunkel and OatesNick OffermanMarc MaronPaul SheerReggie WattsWeird Al Yankovic, among others.
