If you watch the Freeform network series “The Fosters”, then you will know the name Cierra Ramirez. The 20-year-old star of the series—who has won both the Teen Choice Awards and the ALMA Award—is set to release an EP titled “Discreet”. While the EP introduces new fans to Cierra’s musical gifts, fans of “The Fosters” are already familiar with her vocal styling since she sang in episodes such as “Rehearsal”. Now how about we take a listen to this awesome EP? While we’re at it, let’s crank up the volume and get the party started.

Starting out is the rap track “Faded”, which is a track the audience can enjoy in a party setting. The steady beat and Cierra’s vocals make the rhythmic “All Day” one that will keep you on the dance floor. This song has a slow beat, but it is also upbeat and fun to rock out to. Much like “All Day”, “Ain’t Nobody” is also a song with a slowed beat, but it has an awesome energy that the fans will notice within the first five seconds of the track. Cierra proudly tells her audience that there is no other woman like her, and she is correct. “GMTH” was confusing to me. It seems as if Cierra was all over the place with this song. One minute she’s rapping about “throwing dollars” and next minute she’s screaming in the chorus.

“Vanity” is the sweetest song on this EP. The rhythm is a bit more upbeat than the previous tracks and fun to listen to. Finally we have the last track “Discreet”. This track has a sensual melody, but it isn’t overly sexual.

After watching 3 episodes of “The Fosters”, I see that Cierra is a multi-talented young woman with a promising future ahead of her. Not only is she a phenomenal actress, her vocal abilities are amazing and her fans will certainly agree. Her combination of rapping and singing in “Faded” was truly impressive and “Ain’t Nobody” shows us her confidence and that she is not easily intimidated. This is an EP the home audience is going to want to get their hands on. Ladies and gentlemen, “Master” will be out next week, so get ready to party like you’ve never partied before.

I love to write and have been doing so since the age of eight. Fictional stories have always been a favorite of mine, because it gives me a chance to be creative and to express myself in a multitude of ways. On more than one occasion, a song proved to be the inspiration to several stories I have written. Believe it or not, some of those songs were on soundtracks! That’s mostly what I listen to, aside from hits from the 1950’s up to the 1980’s. I’ve learned that anything can be the inspiration to a story, even a poster from the 1990’s or a DVD cover.

I’ve lived in Upper Marlboro all of my life and spent much of my childhood watching cartoons of all kinds, and listening to my older sister’s cassette tapes. Growing up, I listened to everything Jackson related, Paula Abdul, Elton John, and even the controversial group Milli Vanilli. As a teenager, I continued to listen to old-school hits and that was pretty much all I liked, aside from listening to all of Michael Jackson’s music. To this day, I still love old-school hits. That hasn’t changed.

I own a variety of CDs from artists such as Styx, The BeeGees, Michael Jackson, Queen, The Yellow Submarine Soundtrack, and many others. When a soundtrack comes out, there will always be one specific song from that album that I’ll love. It never fails.
