 The Academy of United States Veterans is happy to announce that Academy Award and Golden Globe winning actor, director, and producer Casey Affleck will present a Vettys award at the Fourth Annual Veterans Awards on January 20, 2019 at the renowned Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Affleck starred in numerous high-grossing movies including Good Will Hunting, Gone Baby Gone, and Ocean’s Eleven. In 2007, Affleck took on the role of Robert Ford in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, for which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 2017, he received an Academy Award and Golden Globe for his role as Lee Chandler in Manchester By the Sea.
Affleck has been a supporter of various charities, including PETA, Stand Up to Cancer, Food Bank For New York City, J/P Haitian Relief Organization, the Los Angeles Youth Network, and has also supported the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
The Vettys strives to be a non-partisan celebration of the tremendous achievements of the veteran community, as well as a recognition of the notable work of organizations and individuals who are committed to providing support to those who have served. This year’s Vettys® theme is America, Through the Veterans lens, and the black-tie gala will honor seven individuals and organizations who have demonstrated relentless dedication and selfless service to the veteran community and their families.
