It’s the year 2563, and the earth as we know it is no more. One day, scientist Dr. Dyson Ido (Christoph Waltz) discovers a broken female cyborg in a junkyard. Realizing that the cyborg has a functional human brain, Dr. Ido decides to rebuild the cyborg, naming her Alita, after his late daughter.
The legend of “King Arthur” gets an update in 20th Century Fox’s The Kid Who Would Be King from director Joe Cornish. Alexander Elliot (Louis Ashbourne Serkis) is a young lad living in England who spends his days avoiding local bullies Lance (Tom Taylor) and Kay (Rhianna Dorris). Alex’s best friend Bedders (Dean Chaumoo) is also a victim of the bullies, until one day Alex decides to stand up for Bedders and ends up with detention.
Viola Davis electrifies the screen in director Steve McQueen’s Widows from 20th Century Fox. Davis portrays Veronica Rawlings a teacher union delegate in Chicago. Veronica’s husband Harry (Liam Neeson), a renowned bank robber, makes the mistakes of robbing crime boss Jamal Manning (Brian Tyree Henry), which results in his death, as well his gang. Jamal then decides that Veronica will inherit Harry’s debt, which causes Veronica to seek out the help from the widows of Harry’s crew.
The story of iconic rock band Queen and there larger than life lead singer Freddie Mercury takes center stage in Bohemian Rhapsody from 20th Century Fox. Rami Malek delivers an award-worthy and star making performance as Freddie Mercury. Director Bryan Singer and screenwriter Anthony McCarten film spans 15 years of Freddie’s life, as his band becomes rock icons. Singer mostly known for his work on bigger budgeted film does a fine job with his first biopic. Bohemian Rhapsody is an immense crowd pleaser.
The “Merc with a Mouth” better known as Deadpool returns to the big screen in Deadpool 2 from 20th Century Fox. Ryan Reynolds returns to the titular role of our title character, foul-mouthed mutant mercenary Wade Wilson (a.k.a. Deadpool), who after a personal tragedy brings together a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy of supernatural abilities from the brutal, time-traveling mutant, Cable (Josh Brolin).
Academy Award winner Goldie Hawn will receive the prestigious “Cinema Icon Award” at CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) held March 27-30 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

How did you pitch the story to legendary director Guillermo del Toro? You must have done an amazing pitch to him.
You would hope. (We both laugh)
I was really nervous and we had all the presentation material ready. We went to his place to pitch and it was a disaster. It was a terrible, terrible pitch.
