February 22, 2018 Jeff Talbert Music, Music Reviews, Uncategorized

Jefferson Starship has gone through many changes over the years. Starting out in 1965 as Jefferson Airplane in San Francisco as the pioneer of Psychedelic Music. Due to band members going into other directions, in 1972 they changed their name to Jefferson Starship, and dropping Jefferson from their name in 1984 to become Starship.  In 1992 Paul Kantner and Marty Balin joined together to bring back Jefferson Starship. David Freiberg rejoined the band in 2005.

His concert, titled “Idan Raichel: Piano Songs,” includes many of his songs and the lyrics, as well as the stories behind them. Lauren Cash's take on Black Panther

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

February 19, 2018 Lauren Cash Movie Reviews, Movies

Looking for a movie experience that will have you buying your second ticket before it is over? Check. Ready for a movie that will make you think and damn near cry over a villain? Double Check. Black Panther exceeds all expectations in this beautifully created film from the visions of Marvel Comics, Ryan Coogler, Nate Moore, Ruth E. Carter, and a slew of other talents. I cannot talk about this film without talking about the connection and love story of family and community. Black Panther covers an array of topics in the film from technology and how it is used to why no one should be left behind in the community. All of this is done through a near 2-hour experience of visual and special effects that will keep you literally in Wakanda, forever. Or at least yearning to go back and visit.

Movie Revue: Black Panther

Black Panther Roars onto Screen

February 19, 2018 Derrick Dunn Movie Reviews, Movies

After what seems like an eternity, Black Panther roars onto the screen from Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Picking up from his scene-stealing appearance in Civil War, T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced, African nation of Wakanda. As his country’s new King, T’Challa finds factions, from within his own country, determined to challenge his rule. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with CIA agent Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman) and members of the Wakandan Special Forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.
