The Film Premieres of Dalai Lama Awakening (narrated by Harrison Ford) and Dalai Lama’s Compassion in Action are a part of a 100-city U.S.-Canada “Dalai Lama Double Feature” Film Tour that has enjoyed sold out screenings and rave reviews.

After a successful 36-city film tour of the UK-Ireland, and sold out screenings in cinemas in the U.S. and Europe, Director Khashyar Darvich and his two new Dalai Lama films bring their “Dalai Lama Double Feature” Film Tour (www.DalaiLamaFilm.com) for their respective film premieres in Washington D.C. (Wednesday, February 4) and Fairfax, VA (Thursday, February 12).

The Washington D.C. February 4 Film Premiere will be held at the Angelika Pop-Up at Union Theater in Washington beginning at 6:30 p.m., and the February 12 Fairfax, VA Film Premiere will be held at the Angelika at Mosaic Cinema also at 6:30 p.m. Director Khashyar Darvich will be present at the premiere to participate in a Q&A with audiences. Tickets are $20 for both films of the “Dalai Lama Double Feature,” and are available at: http://www.angelikafilmcenter.com/dc/film/dalai-lama-awakening-compassion-in-action (Washington D.C.) and https://www.angelikafilmcenter.com/mosaic/event/dalai-lama-awakening-compassion-in-action-20150212 (Fairfax, VA).

Dalai Lama Awakening, which is narrated by actor Harrison Ford and is a 15-year realization of a cinematic dream, presents the profound and life-changing journey of innovative Western thinkers who travel to India to meet with the Dalai Lama to solve many of the world’s problems. The result is an inner transformation of the participants, as well as what audiences report is a personal transformational experience for those who watch the film.

The new film, and first film of the “Dalai Lama Double Feature,” was born from over 500 hours of video footage that was shot by 10 cinematographers over a 15 year period, and features H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, innovative thinkers such as Dr. Michael Beckwith (from The Secret), Quantum Physicists Fred Alan Wolf and Amit Goswami (from What the Bleep Do We Know), Radio Host and Author Thom Hartmann, Author Vicki Robin, Revolutionary Social Scientist Jean Houston and others.

“I narrated Dalai Lama Awakening,” says actor Harrison Ford, “because I believe His Holiness is making a positive influence in our world. For me, the film represented an opportunity to continue assisting the optimistic efforts of an extraordinary individual.”

Dalai Lama Awakening and Dalai Lama’s Compassion in Action have already enjoyed success and praise across the U.S. and Europe, and are rapidly expanding into several additional cinemas.

“Many films talk about how we need to become better people to make positive change in the world,” writes Toronto Film Scene, “but few make the argument as convincing as this one. The presence of the Dalai Lama is what makes this film so powerful, and you can almost feel his kindness and love through the screen. If you’re searching for something to inspire you, look no further than this film.”

At the Merrill’s Roxie Cinema in Burlington, Vermont, the sold out “Dalai Lama Double Feature” Film Tour event experienced the highest ticket presales for any documentary in the history of the theater.

As a result of sold out cinema screenings and audience demand, theater chains are scheduling the films into their theaters across the United States. The Angelika Theatre chain has scheduled the films in 8 of its cinemas across the country, including in New York, Washington, Dallas and San Diego.
